Lifting equipment Thorough examination by a full LEEA member

Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998

It is a mandatory requirement to ensure the lifting equipment (including lifting accessories) exposed to conditions causing deterioration which could lead to dangerous situations undergoes Thorough examination.

Thorough examination under LOLER

This is a systematic and detailed examination of the equipment and safety-critical parts, carried out at specified intervals by a competent person who must then complete a written report. The thorough examination is a way to certify that all components which have a bearing on safety have been formally inspected and assessed as being in a safe condition, at the time of testing.

We have a team of Competent persons with practical and theoretical knowledge and experience of plant and accessories which enables them to detect defects or weaknesses and to assess and report on their importance in relation to the safety and use of the lifting equipment. Our team of specialists will carry out the thorough examination of your equipment and issue you with a paper report or provide you with login details for you to access the reports online in real time at any time.

Examination scheme

As an alternative to the maximum intervals of 6 and 12 month for periodic thorough examination Competent person can draw up an examination scheme that involves a detailed schedule of checks, appropriate examination techniques and testing requirements, drawn up to suit the operating conditions of a specific item of lifting equipment.

Thorough examination may indicate areas of poor maintenance, but is not intended to replace it. As a full member of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) (LEEA full member certificate 8540) we operate to LEEA guidelines assuring best practice at all times. Our specialists will advise you on how often inspection should take place. By choosing us as your lifting equipment inspector we`ll manage your LOLER inspection schedule to keep you legally compliant.

If you have any questions about LOLER, don’t hesitate to contact us and one of the team members will get in touch with you to discuss your lifting equipment Thorough examination needs:
