Hugh Simpson (Contractors) Ltd unloaded 117 pipes (18 m long with 1524 mm outer diameter, each pipe 12 tons) from marine vessel Scot Trader, which arrived in Wick Harbour on Friday. Two cranes were set up: one fitted with a vacuum lift and another with the spreader bar and lifting shoes to unload pipes on to the quay.
On the quay we use Dhatec pipe storage system. This system can be easily adjusted to different pipe diameters and is completely safe to store pipes until further transportation to their final location.
